High school research mentoring

Overview

I am passionate about education and run a mentoring program for students interested in doing academic research. The program supports high school students in working on a polished research paper in the social sciences on a topic of their choice.

Process

I work with students Grade 9 + from the ideation process through learning how to research, to crafting a paper, and all the way to potentially publishing

Example of papers published by my students are here:

Ms. Priyanka Sethy made every step of my research process so much easier, always guiding me toward the most efficient way to approach each task. She not only provided clarity and structure but also encouraged me to think critically and independently. The skills and methods she taught me translated directly into my IB coursework, significantly helping me with my Extended Essay. Her mentorship not only strengthened my research abilities but also gave me greater confidence as a student, and I’m truly grateful for the guidance I received.

“It was a great experience working with Priyanka. The whole process was structured really well and that made it less intimidating. I think that my writing skills improved over the course as well. I really liked how all my questions were answered whenever I had them and I could contact whenever I needed help. I really enjoyed my sessions and would recommend them to other students as well”

“Understanding my child’s requirements and modifying the teaching style which suited her ability the most worked great for us … Had a great learning experience and would love to work together in future again”
